Schneider Electric announces that its Square D® Clipsal® lighting control products are included on the set of Ocean’s Thirteen, the new summer movie being released by Warner Bros. Pictures. The movie, which is a sequel to Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve, will star George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, among others. It is scheduled to be released June 8, 2007.
"At last year’s LIGHTFAIR INTERNATIONAL show, I was approached by a movie set designer about using Square D Clipsal lighting control products for a movie he had in development," said David Bruce, business development manager, Eastern Region for Installation Systems and Control at Schneider Electric. "He thought they’d be a good fit because of their distinct look." The movie turned out to be Ocean’s Thirteen.
Square D Clipsal lighting control products include dimmers, relays, motion sensors and input devices such as switches and touch screens crafted in sleek European styling.
"We provided a range of Square D Clipsal control products to be considered for this unique application of our product," Bruce continued. "The production team ultimately chose Clipsal due to the unique style of our Saturn and Neo keypads and touch screens and placed them throughout the movie set."
Saturn™ and Neo™ keypads provide a stylish, modern alternative to the standard look of common electrical wall switches, and are available in multiple switch gangs, all with LED switch indicators that provide illumination and status feedback. Saturn and Neo switches with Dynamic Labeling Technology™ (DLT) allow for electronic labeling of switches according to homeowner preferences and incorporates a backlit LCD screen that can display text or bitmap labels along with function indicators like bar graphs.
