PALATINE, Ill. - January 17, 2008 - New Square D® Commercial Grade wall-switch occupancy sensors from Schneider Electric achieve substantial energy savings for commercial buildings and can play a crucial role in a building owner's green strategy by eliminating waste, reducing energy costs and meeting local energy code requirements. Single- and dual-circuit models use both passive infrared (PIR) and light-level sensor technologies to automatically shut off lights in offices, private restrooms, utility rooms and employee break rooms during unoccupied periods, or when sufficient daylight is present and artificial lighting is not required. Both models are available in five décor-oriented colors, including white, ivory, gray, light almond and black, and employ a color-matching lens to achieve a sleek architectural appearance.

Both single- and dual-circuit occupancy sensors do not require a neutral connection or minimum load and use existing wiring, meaning they can be readily installed by an electrical contractor in most buildings by simply replacing the existing wall switch. Both models feature a 180-degree field of view, while achieving 300-square-foot minor motion coverage. Selectable Auto On and Manual On modes allow the sensors to be tailored to the specific needs of any application.
