PALATINE, Ill. — April 28, 2008 — Schneider Electric announces the availability of Square D® Clipsal® Professional Dimmers, designed to control incandescent and compatible low voltage lighting from one location. Ideal for tight-space applications, Professional Dimmer units are available in 5A (four channels), 10A (two channels) and 20A (one channel) models. Each channel provides independent dimming and incorporates thermal overload and overcurrent protection for optimal, individualized control.
“The new Square D Clipsal Professional Dimmer units automatically compensate for voltage and frequency fluctuations and employ advanced phase control techniques to reduce flicker and increase lamp life,” said Brad Wills, director, Installation Systems & Control, Schneider Electric. “They also offer configuration options — including network monitoring of the channel load and network voltages, adjustable delays for dimming levels, and master override — putting total lighting control into users’ hands.”
Professional Dimmer units utilize specialized dimming modes — soft turn on/off and linearized brightness control, tailoring each light scheme to an individual user’s preferences. The units’ built-in power supply sources 60 mA to the C-Bus™ network and offer integral thermal overload protection on each channel. In addition, the Professional Dimmers also offer a quick-mounting design.
