Lighting consumes around 40% of the energy in a typical commercial building.  Many people are surprised to find that lighting is the biggest single slice of the energy budget.  Controlling this massive operating cost is not an option, it is a necessity.

Office buildings have many unique needs, from large open ‘cubicle farms’ to small individual offices.  In between are facilities with special needs – rooms used for conferences, board meetings, and training.  And office buildings range from those with a fairly basic need to save energy, to those that are upscale and architectural in nature and in which lighting is used to ‘make a statement.’

Not surprisingly, the lighting control solutions needed to meet these different requirements are quite different themselves.
