Hotels and motels offer several opportunities for energy saving by controlling lighting and other loads.  High end properties can also use sophisticated Clipsal scene control to create a unique guest experience in each room.

Powerlink centers can be used to control lighting and convenience loads in each room, and a two pole Powerlink circuit breaker can be used to control the HVAC unit in each room.  Rooms can be de-energized automatically at checkout time, and re-energized from the front desk.  The front desk can use a Clipsal touch screen, a keypad, or Powerlink web pages to turn on power to a room.  Rooms can be powered up as guest check in so that rooms have time to cool down or warm up before guests walk in.

Exterior lights can be set up to operate in relation to sunrise or sunset, saving more energy and burn time on expensive lamps.  And all of this control can occur without depending on the front desk to be attentive.  Further, logs of room power activity can be compared to guest records to make sure revenue records are accurate.

Luxury hotel properties also use Clipsal dimming and keypad products to create interesting lighting scenes in each guest room.  These scenes add to the ambiance and unique lifestyle offered to their more discriminating guests
